The City of Casper
Where Treetops Glisten

After you and your loved ones have gathered around the tree this holiday season, let the City of Casper turn it into a gift that keeps on giving!

Take your empty tree to any City disposal site from Dec. 22 through Jan. 19, and we’ll mulch it into wood chips and compost to enrich our local parks. Need a hand? We’ll even haul it for you. It’s your gift to the community—and it’s all free!

Disposal Sites at Recycling Depots:

Please remove all tinsel, lights, hooks, wires, ornaments, and other decorations from your tree before drop-off.

Christmas Fire Safety
From Casper FIRE-EMS

Your Christmas tree is festive, fragrant—and highly flammable. Keep your holiday safe and jolly by following these fire safety tips:

  • Water daily to keep the tree fresh.

  • Keep the tree at least 3 feet away from heat sources like fireplaces, heaters, or candles.

  • Ensure exits are clear and accessible.

  • Use lights and decorations certified for indoor use by an independent testing lab.

  • Check lights for damage; discard cracked bulbs or frayed cords.

  • Turn off lights when leaving the room or going to bed.

Stay safe and enjoy a merry, bright (but not too bright!) holiday season.
