WRPA Award for Edwin

This award recognizes an WRPA member who has at least 3-years of full-time work experience in the field and has made an outstanding contribution in the profession. These contributions must have been in the form of 2 or more of the following:

  • Displayed an interest in furthering their professional background by attending and/or participating in workshops, conferences, and seminars.
  • Displayed a desire to further professional growth through continued education and/or obtaining further certifications.
  • Displayed a desire to further their professional growth through active involvement in field related work and/or committees and sections.

The Parks, Recreation & Public Facilities Department is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for Casper residents and visitors by providing safe, accessible,  and well-maintained public buildings, parks, trails, open spaces, and recreation programming, as well as historic and cultural resources.
 

It is our goal to support City operations, promote civic engagement, and provide diverse and inclusive leisure opportunities for current and future generations.

Recreation Center

The Casper Recreation Center features a gymnasium for basketball and volleyball, weight room, cardio fitness room, locker rooms, F.I.T. room, a new Hub with kid-sized fitness equipment, and several multi-purpose rooms and meeting areas. Classes in fitness and health, dance, sports, martial arts, arts and crafts, special interests and more are offered for all ages! The facility serves as a site for a wide variety of programs and drop-in activities, in addition to being the focal point of recreation services in the community.

Aquatics

The Casper Family Aquatic Center is the area's largest aquatic facility. If offers two huge slides, hot tub, lap pool and many water features. Swim lessons and water exercise classes are held at various times throughout the day and evening. Individuals and families are sure to find many opportunities to stay active and have fun year round.

Ice Arena

The Casper Ice Arena is one of the finest ice skating facilities in the Rocky Mountain Region. The ice arena offers a wide variety of programs including public skating, skating classes through the Casper Skating School, figure skating, hockey, special events, birthday parties, and private rentals. The Casper Ice Arena also offers a full service concession stand and skate sharpening.

Welcome to the City of Casper Athletic Complexes, home to various events, sports, leagues, and teams! Our outstanding team, led by City of Casper Recreation Supervisor Paul Zowada, takes care of 85 acres of formal turf, with just under 6 acres of that being infield playing surfaces.

The Colorado Chapter for Sports Turf Managers Association has given the City of Casper the following awards:

Fort Caspar Museum
